First of Five | Hello All, I am Lee Keitt '76, Newhouse. The Summer of 2007 kicked off with an early vacation trip to our Alma Mater. Originally, I was planning to go visit my peeps and grandson down south, but I decided to get behind the mike with Dr. Wright and provide to the Class of 1982 and the SU Alumni Jazz Appreciation Society a sort of unprecidented alumni support. Through the Internet, Doc and I reached out to alumni all over the world. It was a personally fulfilling event for me, as I was trained on the print side of communications -- not the broadcast side. I learned a lot about the changing scene of radio. For example, Doc is live and considered "Analog"; whereas, George Kilpatrick, Boyce Watkins, and Butch Charles are pre-recorded and considered "Digital." I witnessed these operations, and realized that the Network can successfully mimic some of the programming. During my stay in the 'Cuse, I reconnected with many alumni and friends. Steve Brown "Mr. Coca Cola", and his fantastic wife, Felicia, put me up for almost two whole weeks. Special thanks to the Browns, especially for the trip to Canada, the nightclubing, the restaurant going, the concert going, and the festivals. As well, I visited the ususal crew on campus: Linda Littlejohn, Larry Martin, Evelyn Walker, Angela Morales-Patterson, Max Patino, Dr. Wright, Dr. Paris, Dr. Watson, Scott Setec, and Ed Gorham. As most of you already know, I was pretty successful in getting video content from all of those mentioned from the campus. However, I tried very hard, and was not successful, in reaching the Chancellor and the Dean of Newhouse. Yes! There are pictures and video coming. Check back often. Remember, if you do not want to see my stuff, feel free to submit your own. Then you can only see my stuff in the NSBL Network Virtual Office. |
